Printer connected to router via ethernet. Laptop PC XP — connects via wireless. Laptop PC Vista — connects via wireless. All PCs exchange data with each other in all directions and access the net no problems. The two XP PCs work with the printer perfectly, one wired, one wireless. All PCs have latest Windows updates and the printer has the latest drivers available. Click Create a new port. Make sure Local Port is selected in the list, and then click Next. Complete the rest of the wizard, and then click Finish.

I am not sure how to add it to a port for a wireless printer. Bear in mind that my HP is on a wireless network that other PC's in my home need wireless access to. I suggest checking for interference between he printer and the router, or move the router closer to the printer. I have the same problem and have Windows 7. I tried the automated fix and it cannot find the problem. I have the printer right next to the router. I have come to believe the Wireless Printers are not there yet or it is not a big enough problem for anyone to really create a fix.
I started with this printer on Windows XP, Vista and now 7. Cannot get it to work consistently. If there is a command to put it back on-line, that would be great and save us all a lot of time and frustrations. Clear instructions. Easy to follow. No jargon. Pictures helped. Didn't match my screen. Incorrect instructions. Too technical. Not enough information.
